Ar snowboard zābakiem uz skibordiem – pirmā reize
07
Zemāk video un vēl zem tā Tenis Dimants to visu apstāstīs angliski:
Tenis Dimants:
Heei,
my first thoughts: it was pretty awesome experience.
As I have been riding snowboard for a while. (long before I found out about the skiboards for shure)
And a little now from time to time.
First, after I step in the bindings with snowboard boots, it felt at least for a 1/3 lighter than my ski boot& AllZ setup.
Even if the weight would be about the same, I think snowboard boot could give that feeling.
Next thing, it feels more flat and more down to the ground. And thats a plus point from my point of view.
I tried carving and such, just to get the feeling of control of the boards.
As we picked some most avaible boots, that are realy cheap stuff and ment no extra cost for us for the first feel, the boot was pretty soft. I mean realy soft. At all points. So I had some awesome control only for my left foot.
And other was little less controlable.
Yeah, the boots was much softer than usual ones that are around the market these days.
Still I got the feeling of how the riding is. And shure, it gets a little closer to the snowboard side of skiing.
The feeling of floating and such. The overall look is good. Quality stuff. Everything looks well combined and in balance and harmony.
When we put the bindings on boards, they seemed not straight (we set them on 0 degrees: snowboardbinding degree stuff u know).
So Martins changed one to 1 degree. And thats what he shouldnt have done.
So we end up with 2 bindings, one on 0 and one 1 degree straighter looking.
By going forward I couldnt see any difference, while going fakie – the “fixed degree” ski had a lot less control.
So if You get Your hands on the r8 receptor snowboard binding risers, keep the degrees straight to 0 (or experiment with it more of what would You prefer).
Try’d a little jump and the landing was solid/ good feeling on the softer boots/wider boards setup.
Did some grinds, no problem on switchups and stuff there. Straight UFO/royal was as simple as with normal skiboard binding/boots.
I somehow got the feeling, that we need to do a little more testing, as well to give it to try to some friendly, good riding snowboarder dudes.
And to test it in powder and bigger jumps in the park. (With boots more proper this time, baby).
So Yess, it is definately fun and everyone should try if they like trying new stuff or going from snowboard to skiboard experience or the feeling of original snowboard boots.
Would I cange it to my AllZ setup that I use to rock around the parks and mountains these days?
I dont think so, they are so completely different from one another, probly on some point would little complement each other. But even so, as You already know: AllZ is the best that there is (for me) Yeah!!
So U know, some fresh skiboarding action coming from Latvia Your way and online soon.
And most definately check out the new Allz 2011 “ELAILA” 94cm Skiboards
