Atvainojos jau iepriekš par pareizrakstības kļūdām, gan man, gan korejiešu skiborderim angļu valoda nav dzimtā, yo ;)

(ENG: talked to Shin Q Park – skiboarder from Korea and here i posted some text – like interview – with some pics down there and, hey – sorry for our language, English is not our mother tongue!)

Spied “Lasīt tālāk” un tur tad viss teksts un bildes!

Where did you saw skiboards for first time? How did you started to ride skiboards? What company brand skiboards you had at begining?

When I was first time to see skiboards, It was on the internet because I was looking for short skis which was easy to ride and carry out. Then, I found the skiboards club on the internet and I joined them.

At that time, the club had begun to meet off-line meeting at local ski resort. So I joined them and one of them lend me a salomon snowblade. That was my first experience.

That was awesome!

How many years you already ride skiboards?

6 years.

What is situation in your country with skiboarding?

- how many riders

Korea has 2 big skiboard community, My community named ‘Raiders’ have 4400 members and other community has about 4000 also. But the hardcore skiboarders are about 500.

- skiboard shops

1 skiboard shop on off-line. This shop deal japanese skiboards and their own skiboard bindings(we call it ‘alpha binding) (www.xvil.co.kr)

2 skiboard shop on on-line. They both deal revel8. And one of them deal lacroix ragriffe.(www.revel8.co.kr, www.snowbug.co.kr)

- skiboarding companies

One binding company.

- popular skiing resorts where you can meet other riders

Our country has 8 resorts, We also run a small community based on the resorts by using big community homepage.

And we have no events for the slopestyle or bigair. As you know, park ski riders go to newschool skis.

Some of us hit the rails and boxes and enjoy jumping but not seriously.

And we have salomon street session once in the winter but I’ve never seen skiboarder on that events before.

here’s the rail jam video.

- Could you provide some resort homepages you usually ride?

Ok,

www.mujuresort.com <– our community’s base resort.
www.high1.com

http://www.phoenixpark.com/

- the brand popularity

From 100% skiboarder

30~40% stricktly

30~40% revel8

20% line

5% salomon and atomic

5% other

- who is promoter, pusher, like – person or persons or some group who is helping to spread the word and pushing sport to higher levels, do you have someone like this?

Anyone can do. We have no pro riders in our country. We just enjoy the riding.

- how others – skiers and snowboarders look on skiboarders, do they like us or they smile or neutral?

Smile. They want to join us! The skiboards seems like fun on their view.

- How does the community work? Do you have monthly meet-up or you meet everyone once a year? What are the benefits if you join in the club, how the club works?

Yeah we have monthly meet up and at the winter season we met regulary twice a month.

Korea’s ski resort is kinda smaller than USA or Japan so we can see easily if one of us riding down the slope.

And We use a LED light leg band to identify our club.

Benefits are hm, NO more solo riding. kk.

Do you have some video, some most popular rider videos or just fun videos to show others how it is happening in your country?

I have some videos in the web but I can’t make a link. The link is forbidden.
